Lukas sighed, reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose between his forefinger and thumb. This creature was displaying its ability to be more annoyingly stupid than dangerous. Sure it was large, but it was dumb, and it wasn't a helpful demon in the slightest. Not that demons were ever helpful, but at least they tended to be arrogant and proud enough to blab at you about their home dimension and how it worked or something.
"Vorlds?" he repeated, blinking several times. Axael must have meant parallel dimensions of course.
Lukas frowned at the shoulder pat. He managed to not reach up and immediately wipe the slime away some how. Probably because he didn't want to look rude.
"Yes. I nearly drowned. This is not interesting, this is bad."

fish heads,roly poly f i s h h e a d s,
Axael tilted his head at the muge.
"So you nearly drown," he sighed, waving a hand dismissively in the air. "Grow gills. Like mine."
The monster ran a finger down his gill filaments. They reacted kind of like the bristles of a comb.
"Anyway. This is still interesting. Interesting because we both arrive here, not knowing where here is, and then you! Seeming not to know what worlds are. I knew humans were... isolated, but not that much? To not--" he paused, sighing. "Okay. Different planets for different creatures, yes? You, from... Earth maybe? Me, Agzael, from Skamad. Skamad Eight, if I remember the classification correctly. Do you have space travel, where you are from?" he asked, belatedly.
Axael just sat there, waiting for an answer.

"Very good suggestion, too bad specialty is not transformation magics," Lukas said, crossing his arms. "Too much potential for bad things. Vould grow gils, but accidental permanent fish gils is not so appealing. But permanent cat ears… maybe be cute. Very good for attracting pretty ladies."
Lukas' broad shoulders rose and then lowered. There was a chance that he may be confusing the fish man, but Lukas didn't know how much he cared about if this thing understood him or not. Maybe he just wasn't even awake right now. That's why this made even less sense than his usual insane life did.
"I know vhat vorlds are," he said. "But this not vorld that we are in. Vould be just other dimension, parallel. Vhere there are. Fish. People."
He frowned. But the way that Axael was talking, it reminded him of a bad sci-fi movie. Or a Star Wars movie. Skamad Eight. This was ridiculous. He was definitely asleep. There was no way that he was awake."Unless. You are not demon. You are--vhat--alien? No. Silly."

fish heads,roly poly f i s h h e a d s,
Axael literally is a bad sci-fi film.
At the word 'cat', he withdrew his head a little, vocal sac inflating. It wasn't easy to look disgusted when you had limited facial expression, but he did it. "Cats..." he grumbled. He straightened back up after a few moments.
"Alien? That concept is silly to you?" He croaked loudly. It was meant to be a laugh. "Thousands, thousands of different species maybe on your planet, but one from another planet that is sentient? Oh! No! Too much, yes? Too much!"
He smacked Lukas on the back. "How endearing. Wisen up. Human? Not the only type of life."

Why anyone, especially something as weird and uncatlike as a salamander man would have a problem with cats, Lukas didn't know. What sort of person had a problem with cats? No one that he wanted to associate with, even if they weren't really exactly a person.
"Vell. Sort of," he said, frowning. The back pat made nearly unbalanced him. Lukas grunted, and then slid out from under his arm to face him again. He really wasn't keen on it touching him again. "Don't think I'm the only type of life. Not vhat I think at all. No. Just not other type of life is aliens, yes? More demons. Lots of demons. I hunt demons. But if you say is alien, and if you say we is on other planet--" Lukas trailed off, looking at the marshlands beyond Axael.
"I don't know. Doesn't matter. Vhaddever you say makes most sense right now, even if silly. So. Ve'll say that you is alien, yah? Vhat do ve do now, alien?"

fish heads,roly poly f i s h h e a d s,
He hadn't ever been called a demon before, and he didn't really know what it meant. So he just filed that away for later.
There were other questions to answer right now! Questions like 'what do we do now'? That question made him uncomfortable. He wasn't very good at making decisions. Axael croaked again, and looked around for an answer. There wasn't one, and there actually wasn't even any clue to what could be an answer. Usually, he had Xyria to make decisions for him, but she was removed from the equation now. He felt incredibly uncomfortable and unsure of his surroundings and, indeed, of what to do next.
"Maybe, I am thinking, we go to highest ground. Get survey of land? See what is best place to be, maybe see if dwellings of sort..." He rolled four shoulders in a shrug-type of movement. "Am not best navigator. Your decision. Partnership, yes? Easier for both of us."
He offered a hand to the Swede, poking his tongue out.
"Seems proficient, that's why."

Lukas looked around himself, unsure where in the world he was supposed to find high ground around here. Everything was low ground. Very low ground. There was water and marsh just about everywhere, and the dark clouds beginning to roll in from one side didn't bode well at all either. Lukas sighed, turning to look back at the frog man. This did not sound like a good idea at all to him. The last thing he wanted to do was partner up with the frogman, but he didn't really have a choice.
Lukas sighed, and outstretched a hand toward Axael. He shook his slimy hand once firmly, and quickly dropped it.
"Sure. Partnership. For figuring things out. Vhatever. And maybe I can find some clothes."

fish heads,roly poly f i s h h e a d s,
"Why you need clothes? Better just with mud," he croaked, trying to play it off like he wasn't thrilled to now have a semi-permanent companion.
Now that the deal had been sealed, Axael had no idea what to do. Everything in the marsh was low ground, and he kind of liked it that way. It was nice, low, and wet. Easy to hide in. As he looked around, he took care in noting the clouds moving in. If it rained (and it looked like it would), then the water levels would rise, and that would be good for him. The more he thought about it, the more he didn't want to leave the marsh.
But he had a partner now! He couldn't be so selfish.
"There is... hills in distance," Axael offered. Hill was an overstatement, in reference to the muddy mound some few hundred yards away. "Hills good place to... get lay of land, I think? Yes. There."
He croaked.
